Game Ideation For The Everyman

Computer game industry uses categories to group games according to their game play style or interactions. Genres are independent of setting. A title can be classified either as an action title if it is set in a fantasy world with goblins and warlocks, or in a futuristic city filled with aliens and hover cars.

Below is a list with descriptions for some of the most popular computer titles. These categories could be broken down into several sub-categories, but I haven’t included any of them in this list.

Action Games

Action games require quick reflexes and the ability to overcome obstacles quickly, sometimes under pressure from enemies. Action games can be classified as many different types of games, from first-person shooter games that focus on fighting or combat to more traditional video games like pong and PAC-man.

Adventure Games

Adventure games are a favorite pastime of many. They allow you to travel to faraway places and encounter monsters, goblins, and spell-casters. Many of the first games were adventure titles. It all started with simple text-based adventure games, and evolved into massive adventure, role playing and puzzle solving games.

Adventure games often require that the player interact directly with their environment by having conversations with other characters, or quickly solving problems in order to move to new areas. Visit:- https://joker123.tv/

Action-Adventure Games

Action-adventure games combine the best parts of adventure and action. These games require the player to solve simple problems while being involved in combat situations. These games often feature open-ended stories, where one action can have an indirect effect on the ending of the story.

Role-Playing Games

Since their inception, role play games (RPGs) have advanced a lot over the past 10 years. Role play games often take place in medieval or ancient times. Gamers take on the roles of mercenaries or travelling adventurers and embark on quests to gain experience and advance through the game.

It is common to fight, solve puzzles and persuade in-game characters. RPGs (roleplay games) can be either very open, where the player has many options and can explore on his own (i.e. Baldur’s Gate), or a very linear and straight-forward storyline (i.e. Final Fantasy Series

Online role-playing games are often played with hundreds of human characters. These MMOs (Massive Multi-player Online), are very popular, with World of Warcraft boasting thousands of players online at any given time.

Simulation Games

Simulator games often place the player in a god-like position, where they can direct control the entire world, a city, a train, or even a railway. These simulation games are often grouped under a construction-based sub-genre, where the character must create a city or theme parks from nothing to become a highly popular destination.

Simulator games allow you to control only one character. Teenage females love life simulation games. You can control one character, and sometimes even nurse an animal to become a full-grown adult pet. Sometimes you can manage an entire ecosystem, such as an aquarium.

Strategy

Quick-thinking, skilled players are often able to play strategy titles. They use advanced and carefully planned strategies to eliminate opposing characters or clans. Strategie games can be played in real time or on a turn-based basis.

Real-time strategy games can be more complicated than turn-based because character decisions are made in real time with opposing teams. Turn-based games can be compared to chess, where you carefully consider each move before placing your pieces. Then, when it is time, you execute your strategies with the hope of winning.
